The most challenging part of this class was writing essays. I am not good at writing, which is why I chose to take this class. It has been a big challenge for me. As a second--language student, I do not have numerous of vocabulary as native speakers, and I do not know the rules for writing essays. Write a perfect essay is really difficult. To be honest, there were many times I wanted to give up. However, Ms.Lee, our professor, always encourage us. She often reminded us not to worry if our first paper was not perfect, because we are still learning and practicing. I told myself, " just keep going-- don't give up. It will get better as I practice." I have carefully read all of the teacher's feedback and try to figure out how to improve. I also joined the tutoring sessions to get extra help, ask questions, and review my work. In addition, I also read the books to learn more vocabulary and try to understand how strong writing is structured. Through this semester, I have learned the rules, format, and requirements for writing essays. Now, I feel more confident when writing in English. I know I still need more practice, and I will improve if I keeping working hard.
